Iftar@ Terrace on the Cornice:St.Regis ,Cornice, AbuDhabi

Splendour :
The reception is awfully graceful. The protocol is perfect. Terrace on the cornice is splendid with the beautiful combination of colors. The arrangements, décor, wall art, chandelier and lamps, everything is vivid and elegant. The services were unmistakable!!!!

Menu:
Menu was mostly Mediterranean as they set the iftar menu for Arab Muslim in general.A variety of salads, some kababs, grill and steak  with a lot variety of deserts was no doubt delish and everything was as sumptuous as it should  be. There was also some disappointments  I felt . Though the iftar buffet  was having only a few Muslims as a guests, but it was unbelievable to not have any fresh juices or lemonade included in the beverages with the buffet; three of Arab drinks with extra dose of syrup were not a very good choice for iftar after 15 hours of fasting. Everyone who is used to do fasting  knows it's very difficult to eat and hydrate after iftar in such a hot humid season . So fresh citrus juices or lemonade are a compulsory for a healthy iftar. Citrus juices ,after a long period of starving ,gives a sudden boast of energy and lemonades helps to consume a basic required food in a healthy way.the tamarind,  apricot and karkade drinks were so sweet as it was a total "no no" for at least us( as we were in the few Muslims present in the iftar buffet!) .
The 2nd real problem I faced was the absence of coffee.  Arab coffee was the only hot beverage included in the package. Do you survive after iftar without having a cup of tea or coffee????  What about  non Arab Muslims who don't drink or aren't habitual of Arab coffee??any substitute??  In a splendid hotel and in a glamorous elegant buffet we were missing two very important things ,I don't know how they did not consider it!!!!!!!  It was another disappointment, Sadly!

The dessert station was no doubt overwhelmed with the local and international sweets And we do had our ample share as me and my daughter are really two sugar manic!

One to One ,The Village

A few days back we received a groupon voucher for 2 large pizzas with cold drinks in One to One village from one of our family friends . I haven't visited  the four star hotel  so far.So during the 2nd week of Feb.2016 we decided to redeem the voucher.
We needed to  follow the Google map to reach there. So as we entered the premise, we noticed we do not get any reception nearby. We inquired an attendant and he guided us about the direction of the dinning hall.
We popped in the hall but there was not  any  attendent around to greet us and to  take us to the table. We approaced the  desk and the desk boy  took us to our  reserved table.

About  the interiors, it was quite  simple .we placed our order for margarita and one to one special pizza.

Usually  I  avoid to post my family photos, but now as I have  a  very few photos of their hall so I am  offering you my family photo  to have a batter view.they started to serve the sauces and cold drinks. I asked the waiter for an extra empty glass for my little man with no ice.I was quite loud but I don't know why he just not listened as for next five minutes  we did not receive anything. As my littluns were eager to drink their cold drink, so we couldn't afford any more delay and my hubby waved to another and asked for a glass. As a whole scene,  I did not observe any  warm hospitality  there or any quick and efficient attendance  . Two or three servers  were available there  but  showing very cold shoulders. It  seemed  as they were not very happy with us or may be they do not like to give any protocol to the groupon voucher holders. In any case our moods were ruining  every minute.
They served pizzas quite coldly as there was some sort of ban on politeness .it was even more disappointing as they did not serve any of their fresh bread that is very customary around every pizza counter.this was the only place we were served pizza alone .it was really strange and disappointing . As we were five including my four year old son and one friend of us . it was a perfect pizza serving with the expected complimentary fresh bread but the absence really left a very bad taste in my mouth .I planned to order some extra food for us but my husband simply discouraged me as he was  quite unhappy with the services and wanted to leave immediately.
So their poor services, skipped sessions of starters, very cold behavior totally ruin the taste of pizza.may be it could be yummy but at the moment no one  was enjoying the taste. Ultimately, without extending our order we left our tables.I was so in bad mood as I did not try to get any  photoshots over their ;as it's true, the good services makes everything worth trying. It was definitely a no more trying place for me!
